Diploma in Teaching Pilates-GLASGOW
MONTHS
This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work in an unsupervised capacity; planning, instructing and evaluating a safe and effective Pilates session.
Entry Requirements
Learners need to be 18 or above to complete this qualification.
You will need to already be taking part in Pilates Mat work sessions or start doing so before the course begins.
Qualification Structure
The learner must complete:
Unit 1: Providing a positive customer experience in the exercise environment
Unit 2: Lifestyle Management and Health Awareness
*Unit 3: Applied Anatomy and Physiology
*This is an additional e-learning module that needs completed throughout the qualification at a time that suits you (included with the course)*
Unit 4: Principles of Planning and Delivering Group Exercise
Unit 5: Principles and Fundamentals of Pilates
Unit 6: Plan and deliver a Pilates Session
A log book will need to be completed monthly to show attendance in outside Pilates Mat classes – This will need signed off by the instructor.
Assessment
The YMCA Awards Diploma in Teaching Pilates (Practitioner) is assessed through a combination of internal and external assessment:
Assessment workbooks
Worksheets
Progressive programme and viva
Session planning
Summative observation of practical teaching evaluation and reflection
A log book will need to be completed monthly to show attendance in outside Pilates Mat classes – This will need signed off by the instructor.

*As this is a Practical based qualification you will need to be available to travel to Glasgow, Scotland for practical tutorials and assessments – Meridian Yoga & Pilates Studio, Ste 1/7, 146 Crownpoint Rd, Glasgow G40 2AE.
