Pre-Requisites
There are no prerequisites for the CPT Practical Skills Workshop; however, this workshop is intended for aspiring or current fitness professionals seeking additional learnings on how to use the NASM Optimum Performance Training (OPT™) Model to create fitness programming.
What will you Learn
Module 1: Course Introduction and Prep
Module 1 begins with a Pre-Test to evaluate your current knowledge of NASMs Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) content and determine if you are ready to proceed to Module 2. If your score is 70% or higher and you feel comfortable with the material, you should proceed to Module 2. If your score is below 70%, it is advised to spend additional time reviewing the provided Prep Materials included in Module 1 before advancing.
Module 2: Practical Skills Workshop Lecture Videos
Module 2 covers key concepts in Human Movement Science, Movement Assessments, and the OPT™ Model through 12 video lectures. Additionally, it includes an OPT™ workout video demonstrating real-world application by NASM Master Instructors. Model 2 also includes a Post-Test that you must pass with a 70% or higher to receive your certificate of completion.

This course is intended for aspiring fitness professionals seeking visual instruction on assessing and implementing exercise programming, and those who desire additional support to successfully pass the NASM-CPT exam.
It is also designed for existing fitness professionals looking to incorporate a systematic process for assessing, designing, and implementing fitness programming using the NASM OPT™ Model.
How is this Course Delivered?
This course is delivered completely online and can be accessed at any time. You will have five (5) years from the day of enrollment to complete the course.
How is the exam administered?
Module 2 consists of a Post-Test that will assess your understanding of the material. The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need to score 70% or higher. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam.
Will I receive a certificate on completion?
A certificate of completion will be provided to you once you have passed the final exam with a 70% or higher.
How many CEUs is the course worth and which organizations accept them?
CPT Practical Skills Workshop is approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the following organization:
NASM – 0.9 CEUs
AFAA – 0.9 CEUs
Individuals must possess an NASM or AFAA certification prior to completing the course to acquire CEUs.
