DEMAND
By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to support exercise and physical activity for healthy and non-complicated antenatal and postnatal clients, as set out within the CIMSPA professional standard.
The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to develop the knowledge to support exercise, physical activity, health and wellbeing during the perinatal period (pregnancy and postnatal). This includes when and how to signpost to other services, where necessary.

Programming exercise and physical activity for perinatal participants
Assessment
Knowledge questions.
Information resources.
Applied case study questions.

By completing this qualification, learners will have gained the essential underpinning knowledge to be able to adapt exercise and fitness sessions to ensure they are inclusive for individuals through perinatal.
In order to add the term ‘Practitioner’ to the Qualification Learners must also complete:

*Learners completing this unit will be acknowledged with the addition of the term ‘practitioner’ on their certificate to confirm that they have demonstrated relevant skills delivering exercise for this population.
