Update – I Snapped My Achilles
Hey Everyone,
Lee here again, hope you’re keeping well.
So, just an update on my Previous Blog as a lot of people have been asking, thank you so much for the well wishes.
It’s been just over 5 weeks since the injury (I Snapped My Achilles). I was in a cast for 2 weeks and then was put into what can only be described as a ‘Robocop Boot’ (below).
This is some piece of kit. Basically, it traps my foot in a certain position and then every couple of weeks it gets adjusted lower and lower, eventually until flat.
I thought for sure that surgery was on the cards but after chatting with the physios it seems that this is the way forward. That is unless your young and an athlete (which I don’t think I am either anymore).
I am getting about a lot better and even took a few assessments last week. To be fair, I slept like a baby that night.
Anyway, next week, the boot will be adjusted again. 2 weeks later it will be adjusted one final time as it will then be flat on the floor. I will then be allowed to take the boot off for most of the day and start into physiotherapy.
I will keep you updated here over the next few weeks.
Thank you once again for all the well wishes.
PS When people see me and ask “What Happened?”, once I say “I Snapped My Achilles” , I am now starting to enjoy the look on peoples faces lol.
Take care of yourselves folks.
