This Years Fundraising – PICU at Royal Childrens Hospital Belfast

Every year at Platinum Training Institute we choose a certain charity/cause to fundraise for.

2016 – Brainwaves NI
2017 – Marie Curie
2018 – Aware NI

Each of these charities/causes are personal to us and this years is no exception.

My Godson Taran was born on 27/12/18 with a right sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). Scans had shown his liver and bowels in his chest cavity, his heart pushed to the left side of his chest and his right lung severely under-developed. From his first scan at 23 weeks he was given a 50/50 chance of survival. Unfortunately for Taran only 10% of CDH cases are right sided which made his case more complicated.

So, this year we will be fundraising for the PICU Ward at Royal Childrens Hospital Belfast.

Me and Taran’s father James will be taking part in the Spartan Race on 26th May. We will also be organising various other challenges throughout the year.

Just a heads up but my next challenge after the Spartan Race will be treading water for 6 hours with no break (sure why not)
