Not just placebos! Siberian Ginseng



The weekend is drawing to a close and its time to get geared up for a brand new week! If you dread Monday mornings, or just find your energy levels lower than normal read on! In this weeks ‘Not just placebos!’ series we are looking at Siberian Ginseng, a perky, powerful, pick-me-up!


Asia has known about the powerful energy providing properties of ginseng for millennia. Ginseng has been used for medicinal purposes and the benefits of this root are well documented over the years such as:


  • Improve sexual performance

  • Improve the body’s ability to adapt to metabolic stress

  • Improve memory and other sorts of cognitive functioning

  • Improve physical performance

  • Improve cellular health (inflammation, free radicals, protect against cancer, etc) by acting as a powerful antioxidant


But not all ginsengs are created equal. That is why we have chosen Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus Senticosus) as it is particularly good at allowing your body to cope with metabolic stress.  It acts as a cellular regulator, and provides a sustained energy boost and improvement in physical performance.  This supplement has gained popularity of late but under a different name – eleuthero root! Eleuthero root has become more popular because it is an adaptogen – a type of herb that mediates metabolic stress within the body – and if you exercise regularly then you are persistently creating metabolic stress within the body!

Siberian Ginseng

Siberian Ginseng can increase your body’s ability to react to physiological stress, it has been shown to increase energy, stamina and endurance levels making it a great addition for anyone that hits the gym regularly. It also assists the body to resist viral infections and environmental toxins by supporting liver function, lung function and the circulatory system. As well as giving your central nervous system a helping hand!


Siberian Ginseng is another supplement that has stood the test of time and is an excellent add-on when you are experiencing times of greater physical stress and to mitigate fatigue! When I feel a little less than bouncy, my own extra energy trick is to team it with a B vitamin complex to perk me up without affecting my sleep or giving jitters like caffeine can. Or sometimes you just need an extra kick on a Monday to get the week started 😉
