6 Hours Treading – Hardest Challenge I’ve Ever Done
On Sunday 7th July I completed 6 Hours of Treading Water in Queens University PEC Belfast. I have to say this was the hardest challenge I have ever done.
I have had this idea in my head for a long time and thought this Summer I would give it a go. The most I have ever completed (even training for this) was 1 Hour. Quite a difference between 1 and 6.
I was pretty comfortable for the first few hours but as soon as the clock struck at 5 hours something changed, I began to shiver all over and was so cold. Luckily after about 10 minutes I got a second wind and carried it out to the end.
There was so much support from friends, family, work colleagues, Queens staff, students and complete strangers and I want to say a Huge Thank You to Everyone. I really could not have completed this without you all. I wasn’t allowed to touch the side of the pool so had to have my friends pass me Jelly Babies and Water etc throughout the time lol.
As I am writing this there has been a total of £2595 raised for the PICU Ward in the Royal Children’s Hospital Belfast.
