£1400 Raised for RNLI Newcastle

Hey Everyone (Lee here), hope you’re well.

Last July, I did a charity event – 9 hours treading water – and decided to raise funds for the RNLI, specifically the Newcastle Lifeboat Station, as they are the most local to me. You can read all about the Charity event in the blog  – I Completed My 9 Hour Tread

So, yesterday me and my family got to go and visit the Lifeboat Station in Newcastle, Co. Down.

The folks at the station were unbelievable. They told me lots of stories and why they actually decided to volunteer with the RNLI. We got to tour the main Lifeboat (and smaller boats) and understand exactly what happens when calls come in to the station.

Lifeboat Newcastle

It was a fantastic morning and so kind of all of the folks there, they even put on a lovely spread for me and the family (not expected at all).

I always think it is important to see where the funds go in a charity as it really helps you understand why they are needed.

The total raised was £1400 and I want to say a huge thank you to anyone who donated, got involved in the event or sent their support messages. Thank you so much again.

When I was teaching my daughter to swim, the first thing I taught her was how to tread water. It is more important than learning to swim and is a vital skill.

You can check out all of the information on water safety and more by visiting the RNLI Website.

Thanks very much again everyone.

Take care,

Team PTI
